QPR want Arsenal Forward Nicklas Bendtner

According to sportsdirectnews.com QPR have an interest in signing Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner

Although featured in a few first team appearances after injuries to Podolski and Theo Walcott, he is still unlikely to be a player Wenger needs come January and a move to Loftus Road may well tempt the Arsenal man.

QPR sit in third spot in the Championship but have only managed 18 goals in 16 fixtures and could benefit with a striker in the form of Bendtner. A temporary switch to QPR may well suit all parties and if successful Bendtner could then in theory make a permanent move to the West London club.

Bendtner has scored 45 goals in 164 appearances for Arsenal.

Mathieu Flamini has been the latest casualty of the Arsenal squad after picking up a groin injury against Hull City on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman is set to have tests to assess the problem at the Gunners’ London Colney training ground on Thursday, the game against Hull being the first time Wenger has rotated the squad for a Premier League match.

Arsenal have now got a 6 day break before playing Everton at home and then Napoli and Manchester City.

Mathieu Flamini Under Fire

The Frenchman is under fire for cutting off his sleeves in the clash against Manchester United last week. It’s important to note these were shirts which had poppies added to be auctioned off after the game.

29 year old Flamini took a snip to his yellow shirt and the Gunners staff didn’t notice until the second half was under way.

The Arsenal side to have a strict policy of players wearing shirts with the same length of sleeve, a decision made by the captain on the day of the match, it is of tradition.

An Arsenal source said: “Vic and Mathieu had heated words at the end of the game.

“It is a tradition that all players wear the same shirt. Why he can’t simply roll his sleeves up rather than cut them off is beyond most of us.”

“It didn’t help that the shirts were ones with a poppy on, that are sometimes auctioned off to raise money for charity.”

The Spotlight is On Van Persie Again

Van Persie has once again scored against his former club, Arsenal, to give Manchester United the win. Robin Van Persie has now scored in all 3 consecutive games against his below par former club with Sagna being arguably one of Arsenal’s best performers on the day.

Boss Arsene Wenger was not happy to see his side lose due to a set-piece.

“It is difficult to lose the game the way we did,” he told Sky Sports.

“But overall to sum it up – we conceded a goal to a set-piece and in a big game that can make the difference.

“In the first-half we were too nervous and rushed our game too much, and lost too many balls and did not track the ball and on the corner the goal came from one of these balls.

“The second-half we had a real go and played our usual game and we came very, very, very close many times to score, but we have to digest it and come back after the break in a strong way.

“The heart was in the game, the desire was there – maybe a bit too much in the first-half.”

Six points now separate the first eight in the table after another shocking weekend where we saw Tottenham lose to Newcastle and Manchester City to Sunderland.

Mathieu Flamini was substituted on the 61st minute mark after picking up a yellow card for a tackle on Jones.
